Floribama Shore was an American reality television series on MTV that followed eight young adults as they lived, worked, and partied together at the Florida Panhandle. It is a spin-off of Jersey Shore and a counterpart to CMT's Party Down South.
On October 30, 2017, MTV announced the series, which came from Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano. The entirely new cast "quietly filmed" the entire first season before the announcement.[1] The series debuted with high ratings on November 27, 2017,[2] and was officially renewed on January 8, 2018.[3]
The second season aired on July 9, 2018, and consisted of 14 episodes, which was 6 more then it's freshman season.[4] A third season renewal came on June 11, 2019, and moved locations to St. Petersburg.[5]
Production for the fourth season began prior to any announcement, which was made on January 26, 2021. The season, which took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, saw the cast move locations to Montana and Lake Havasu, AZ. It also was the first season not to feature Kortni, who had left in the third season. The season shut down production for a week because a crew member tested positive for COVID-19. The fourth season premiered on September 16, 2021.[6]
By August of 2022, MTV indefinitely shelved the series, with its future being "evaluated".[7]
Synopsis[]

Main cast (Seasons 1–3): (L to R) Back row: Aimee, Kirk, Gus, Jeremiah, Codi; Front row: Nilsa, Kortni, Candace
The team behind pop-culture powerhouse Jersey Shore reignites MTV's franchise that celebrates youth culture, turning its cameras to the Florida Panhandle to profile a summer of fun for eight young adults. The carefree crew spends long days and bright nights in the hottest beach town on the Gulf Coast, Panama City Beach, hoping to keep the real world at bay just a bit longer. Detailing hookup drama, the ending of relationships, tasting independence for the first time, or trying to escape the past, this incarnation tells a coming-of-age story 'Shore' fans know and love. The series follows housemates Jeremiah Buoni, Nilsa Prowant, Gus Smyrnios, Aimee Hall, Codi Butts, Candace Rice, Kirk Medas, and Kortni Gilson. Kortni left the series towards the end of the third season due to panic attacks and mental health reasons. Party Down South star, Mattie Lynn Breaux joined the cast during the third season.
Locations[]
The first two seasons of the show were filmed in Panama City Beach at a beachside house.[1] Season two featured New Orleans, Louisiana, where the cast stayed for two nights. The third season filmed in a house at St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.[5] The fourth and final season was filmed over the COVID-19 pandemic, which shifted the show drastically. Filming took place in a cabin in Missoula, Montana, for what the series called "Monatanabama Shore." The location moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and finally, to a house in Athens, Georgia.[6]

Notes and Trivia[]
- The title is a portmanteau of "Florida" and "Alabama".
- In 2021, 495 productions allegedly sent the crew and cast, minus Gus, to Nilsa's wedding to film season five. The cast had returned to the original Beach House in PCB and had filmed days leading up to the wedding, as well as Nilsa choosing her dress. At the time, the second half of season four had begun airing. Notably, Candace and Gus's feud had played out online, which put a strain on all the roommates friendships.[8][9]
- Nilsa confirmed in an Instagram reel that the cast filmed an entire fifth season at the original PCB shore house. The season included her wedding and son. She called it the best season yet and was excited because she had her own room. MTV chose to never air the season and she doesn’t know what happened to it, but is still hopeful they'll release it one day.[10]
- Floribama Shore can be streamed on Hulu, Paramount+, Disney+, and Roku. It can be purchased on YouTube TV, Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango.
- In 2025, a cruise was announced featuring Nilsa, Aimee, Gus, Jeremiah, Candace, Codi, and Mattie, set to embark on May 18th - 22nd, 2026 with Post Game Cruises.
