Snooki & JWoww is an American reality television series on MTV. The series is the second spin-off of MTV's popular reality series Jersey Shore and starred Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley. Their partners and later husbands were also featured heavily in the series, along with some of their friends.
The series was executive produced by Jersey Shore' producer, SallyAnn Salsano of 495 Productions. The show premiered June 25, 2012, and was renewed for a second season, which premiered on January 8, 2013 with a new time and extended to a one hour format. On April 25, 2013, MTV renewed the series for a third season which premiered on October 22, 2013. On April 24, 2014, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season, which premiered on November 5, 2014, and ended on February 4, 2015.
Synopsis[]
The adventures never end for "Jersey Shore" BFFs Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley as they transition to a new life chapter as roomies living in the Garden State. However, those adventures -- nights on the town, boozing it up, meeting new guys -- took a sharp turn prior to this spinoff premiering when Snooki revealed she was pregnant. As the series progresses, Jenni also becomes a mom. But fear not, fans of these gal pals, as there promises to still be plenty of high jinx to follow between the two amid more relaxed days and quiet nights at home. "You're going to see a very different side to both women," MTV promised.
Locations[]
The first season of the series was supposed to film in Hobken, New Jersey, but their permit was revoked. Production looked to move to Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania after being invited by the city, but the Central Pennsylvania Film Office revoked their invitation when citizens complained about the potential filming. Newark, New Jersey also refused to allow the series to film in the city out of worry that their "emergency personnel tied up handling incidents with the reality stars."[1] Finally, the series landed in Jersey City, New Jersey, where the two stars lived in an old firehouse located at 38 Mercer Street.[2] The series was met with pushback from local businesses who either banned or refused to allow MTV, Snooki, or JWoww in their establishments.[1] Despite difficulties, the series went on with principal photography and several businesses agreed to be featured in the first season. Hundreds of fans watched the series film live each day.
Season 2 shifted locations, which proved extremely difficult for MTV and 495Productions for similar reasons as the first season.
